These are the last three paintings i created in my old studio. The paintings mark an end of a era and the start of something more worth while for my art practice. The paintings felt different to the rest because when I was painting them i was under constant tension knowing that my life was going to completely change. I spent more time using my hands and rags than the paint brush. I painted the hearts because at the time I was interested in painting flesh, taking Jenny Saville as a major influence at the time. I used gels both cheap and strong pigmented oil paint, rags and hands I felt more physically connected with the the board I was painting on.
